Hi! I'm Pam, your Thai Language Coach from Chiang Mai. Ma Rian Thai (มา เรียน ไทย) means "Come, Learn Thai" — that's the spirit of everything I do. I've had the joy of teaching Thai to travellers and expats from all around the world.
I don't teach from textbooks. I teach from the streets of Chiang Mai.
My lessons focus on practical, real-world conversations so you can build confidence and natural fluency, step by step.

These small gestures unlock big connections. Learn them before you land.
The Wai Greeting
Press your palms together near your chest and bow slightly. It's how Thais say hello, thank you, and show respect - all in one beautiful gesture. The higher the hands, the more respect you show.
Pro tip: Use it when greeting anyone - from street vendors to hotel staff. They'll love it.
Shoes Off, Please
Before entering a Thai home, temple, or many shops - slip off your shoes. It's a sign of respect and cleanliness that's deeply rooted in Thai culture. Look for the pile of shoes at the door!
Pro tip: Wear slip-on shoes in Thailand. You'll be taking them off a lot!
The Magic Polite Words
Add "ครับ" (khráp) if you're male or "ค่ะ" (khâ) if you're female to the end of any sentence. It's the simplest way to sound polite and respectful in Thai - and it makes locals smile every time.
Pro tip: Try saying "ขอบคุณครับ/ค่ะ" (thank you) at your next meal!

Not at all! Many of my students start from zero. I'll guide you step-by-step from basic sounds to full conversations comfortably.
No, we use an easy-to-read phonetic system for beginners. You can focus entirely on speaking and listening first! Reading can come later if you choose.
We use Google Meet or Zoom for all 1-on-1 private lessons. I'll share a link with you before every session.
Every student is different, but most feel confident ordering food, grabbing a taxi, and greeting locals within their first 3 to 5 lessons!
It depends on your goals! For a short trip, a 5-lesson bundle is perfect for basics. If you're an expat moving here, ongoing weekly lessons will build lasting fluency.
